UAE central bank sets early exit fee limit for mortgages in UAE

The Central Bank of UAE directed the local bank of UAE to reduce the early settlement fees on mortgages in UAE to a maximum of 1 percent or 10,000 AED, whichever is less to those borrowers who want exit early. 

The early exit fees for the local banks was set at 3percent in June 2018.

But the circular from the UAE Central bank did not specify any specific timeline for a refund as the banks overcharged their banks early from the customers.

Banks and money organizations that subjectively changed the expressed terms of the charges in existing client understandings are required to regard the first terms of the understanding and discount all cheats for all clients dependent on their unique expense inside 30 days of this notice.
